The Flapper Type Fluid loss control valve is designed to prevent fluid loss after gravel packing operations. The sealing mechanism in the FLCV is an upward opening flapper that is retained in the open position by an integral sleeve. When the sleeve is shifted up, the flapper closed downward preventing fluid loss to the formation.
The wellbore can be re-open by breaking the flapper. This can be achieved by using a mechanical jar or hydraulic pressure. After breaking the flapper, the well is ready for production or injection.

● Mechanically or hydraulically reopened;
● Flapper incorporates rupture disc to provide hydraulic bypass.
